Dr. Deepak Sharma from Bhopal in Madya Pradesh, created a new world record for tying the Windsor knot, recording a time of 17.91 seconds in January. Previously, Sam Dove of Cyprus held the Guinness World Record for tying the Windsor knot in 20.27 seconds. The Windsor knot is a method of tying a necktie, which produces a wide triangular knot and is said to be named after Britain's Duke of Windsor, the man who renounced the throne as King Edward VIII to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson. Dr. Sharma, who hails from western province of Gujarat, works as a bank officer and has a collection of over 3000 ties. Before this, he had already created some records in knot tying.
