In the UK, a woman described as “pure evil” has been jailed for 10 years after treacherously stealing £1 million from vulnerable people by claiming to be spiritual healer who could cure cancer or help them get pregnant by sending money to the Amazon jungle. It emerged during the trial that she had already been convicted of 28 counts of fraud and four of theft in the 1980s.
